This is not over
It’s been a rough few days for those of us who care about reproductive justice, and yet, we have to keep fighting.
I was lucky enough to spend last night in the company of women of color, who are on the frontlines of battles - for a just democracy and economy and for a woman’s right to choose and to privacy.
At the event, Stacey Abrams affirmed that Roe v Wade is about women’s rights, but also human and civil rights.
Kamala Harris reminded us that a “democracy cannot be strong if the rights of women are under attack.”
And Rep Bee Nguyen, who was being honored, shared her commitment to protecting American democracy and fighting for women’s and immigrant rights.
Their comments reminded me that I am not alone in my despair or my hope.
I hope you can find time with your people, to cry, scream and refuel. We deserve more, we have a right to more, and we will keep fighting for more.
