Our Love is Greater than their Fear
My loves, I know you are heartbroken. And you are still going.
For fuel, I bring you this from Black feminist lesbian poet Audre Lorde:
The white fathers told us: I think, therefore I am. The Black mother within each of us - the poet - whispers in our dreams: “I feel, therefore I can be free.”
For clarity about our interconnectedness, I offer this from scientist Robin Wall Kimmerer, an enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi nation:
“What I do here matters. Everybody lives downstream. My pond drains to the brook, to the creek, to a great and needful lake. The water net connects us all.”
I am painfully aware that more is yet to come. You are in my heart. Together, we will walk the road to our collective liberation
