It’s our month, women!
I’ll spare you my rant on Women’s History Month and all the other months of marketing campaigns and corporate attention on women and people of color.
Let’s focus instead on using March as a bridge between Winter and Spring. Whether you observe Holi, Nowruz, Easter or the solstice, let’s make some commitments to centering and grounding ourselves in the weeks to come.
This is the month that the year finally gets its footing, according to Chani Nicholas.
For me, March is always a signal of a busier period ahead. This year, I’m committing to practices that honor my introvert needs as well as ensure that I can bring main character Leo energy to any gatherings where I do show up.
Here are three things I plan to do:
Remember that no is a complete sentence. If there’s a lifelong journey I may be sharing with other No. 1’s, it’s this one. Watch these two queens say more on this here.
Be more spontaneous. Which means creating more space in my schedule for that spontaneity. Because being overscheduled leaves little room for spontaneity.
Build in plenty of down time after a particularly social period. I am still testing out the right balance of doing what I want and resting vs just hanging out at home all the time. The latter is great, but doesn’t fill my need for being in community.
I send you the reminder to breathe and hydrate. And do what you can to make 2023 be energetically aligned with what you want, instead of being swallowed up in the energy of “the great return to normal.”
