Malala Made Me Do It
I hope you’re all watching We are Lady Parts, a brilliant show about an all woman of color British punk band. Series 2 dropped in late May, bringing with it an updated playlist. You’re welcome!
In Episode 2 (no spoilers), the band gets access to a retreat space. It’s clean and spacious and fancy, and they’re inspired to write a new song called Malala Made Me Do It. Saira, the band’s lead, is shown taking a bath in a luxurious bathroom and shifting her perspective on a challenge the band is experiencing.
Apart from wanting you to watch this show, if you haven’t already, I wanted to lift up the value of a retreat. And to share with you a new offering from me – Radical Reset: A Guide. In the intro to the guide, I say “I’m committed to ensuring that we don’t burn out as we burn down the systems and institutions that don’t serve us.” The guide offers seven principles for organizing retreats that help replenish us as we create the world we want to see.
